My 24 hours in Mumbai were rich in experiences and human encounters – the train (un)expected ordeal, hotel and dining, and then the awesome Elaphanta Island caves, boat ride, climb. Even the taxi trip to the airport was illuminating.

The Udaipur to Ajmer sleeper bus experience made the frozen morgue experience feel real. An interesting turn of events including a cargo bus and some daring improvisations brought an adventure to a happy end.

On my bus ride from hell from McLoed to Manali, I “only” suffered from excruciating motion sickness and almost lost my luggage. Those were the longest 10 hours of my India trip. High stamina was required.
