Vashisht didn’t measure up to my expectations, still it was fun to walk up to the famous waterfalls, eat at the Tibetan Cafe to sounds of Israelis playing guitar and singing, dip my toes at the hot springs, emjoy the village atmosphere.

Mangyal Tsemo Monastery in Leh is a great historical-religious site. After a rigorous climb with breathtaking views, you encounter yet another example of Buddhist nature-culture merge – multiple-armed Buddhas and demons, flags and totems.

Shanti Stupa Leh with adjacent temples, towering over Leh to the north, are magnificent Buddhist modern holy sites. Breathtaking views, beautiful art, Arduous climb. Visit concluded with unstructured luxurious shanti time with chai and momos at a zula down the “Israeli Road’.

No matter what you think, this city is it and not it. At night, in particular, different essences come to life in alleys, deserted fields, on top of ancient city walls, behind fences and under construction.

Oriental Dance Festival Eilat with multiple workshops and performances is an extraordinary international gathering of beauty, art, culture and, yes… extravaganza.
